Rites Held for Adelina Gomes; Final rites were held here Monday for Adelina Concciao Gomes, 70, who died Saturday at
her Patterson home following a brief illness. A native of Tereicia, Azores Islands, she had lived in Patterson the past five
years, moving here from Turlock. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. A rosary was held Sunday evening at the
church, and a Mass was said Monday morning. Burial in Patterson District Cemetery followed. Survivors include a son,
Jorge Gomes of Modesto; two daughters, Marie Moules of Patterson and Luisa Dores of Stevinson; and four
granddaughters.
