Funeral held for Evelyn Torrez Gonzalez     July 14, 1942 � May 20, 2005
A funeral was held Tuesday for Evelyn Torrez Gonzalez of Turlock, who died Friday at Emanuel Medical Center in
Turlock. Mrs. Gonzalez, 62, was a native of Canoga Park.  She lived in Patterson 10 years before moving to Turlock,
where she had lived for the past 25 years.  Mrs. Gonzalez was a retired registered nurse from Emanuel Medical Center in
Turlock and a member of New Life Church. Her son, John Gonzalez, said his mother had an abundance of love for many
people, most notably her grandchildren, and she loved spending time with them.  She also liked to travel.  Mrs. Gonzalez
is survived by her children, John Gonzalez of Ceres, and Tino, Mario and Louise Pena, all of Turlock; sisters, Lorraine
Chavez of Turlock and Faye Chavez of Ceres; 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.  Mrs. Gonzalez was
preceded in death by her father, Frank Torrez of Patterson.  Tuesday's funeral was at New Life Temple in Turlock. Burial
followed in Turlock Memorial Park. Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson handled funeral arrangements.
