Dr. Karl Gorz

A memorial service near Waterford will be private for Dr. Karl Gorz, who died at 
his home near Vienna, Austria on Nov.3. 
Dr. Gorz, 66, was a native of Austria, who stayed with the Crooker family in 
Patterson while he was an exchange student at Patterson High School from fall 
1957 to spring 1958. He worked as a surgeon in Austria for many years.
Dr. Gorz enjoyed skiing, playing the violin and especially playing with his 
grandchildren. He also enjoyed visiting his host family, having recently visited 
in September during his host mother Dorothy Crooker�s 90th birthday celebration 
in Modesto. He also attended his Patterson High School class reunion at that 
time.
Dr. Gorz is survived by his wife, Hursula Gorz; daughter, Michelle Lechner; son, 
Christian Gorz; and four grandchildren, all of Austria.
A funeral service for Dr. Gorz was in Austria last week. The host family�s 
private memorial service will be at a ranch owned by the Crooker family near 
Waterford. The Crooker family plans to place a cross in Dr. Gorz�s honor at the 
ranch � a place that Dr. Gorz enjoyed to visit � in his memory.
