Griewe Robert J 471031 p1 Going to fast . . . didn t see the turn . . . fell asleep . . . mechanical failure . . . it doesn t make any difference now because he is dead. His name was Robert J. Griewe, 20, and a fresh mound of earth in Del Puerto Cemetery is another memento to the specter that rides in your automobile. The young victim was alone at the time of the crash. He was westbound on Las Palmas Avenue and piled into the western abutment of the Joaquin River bridge. A native of Seattle, Griewe was a recent resident of Patterson, coming here for his health. He was employed by Tronstad and Thorkelson. The accident occurred Thursday evening of last week. Funeral services were Monday at Sacred Heart Church. Rev Lester Erhmann officiated. His parents, now in Seattle, plan on moving to California. For that reason he was buried here.
