Claire Therese Grzanich
May 30, 1992 � July 13, 2007
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday in Chicofor Claire 
Therese Grzanich, 15,of Durham, who diedFriday in an accident on the family 
property.
Claire lived in Durham all her life and attended Durham schools. She would have 
been a sophomore at Durham High School next month and had been elected sophomore 
class president.
Claire was a member of the Durham Dolphins swim team, Durham Parkview West 4-H, 
California Scholarship Federation, Interact Club, Durham High School band and 
Girls Block Club. She participated on the school�s swim, basketball and track 
teams. Claire was a valedictorian at Durham Intermediate School in 2006.
Her family described her as kind and generous and loved by all who knew her. 
Claire loved God, her family and friends, her room, the color pink, country 
music, reading, Hawaii, sunshine and summertime. 
Claire is survived by her parents, Dan and Cathleen Grzanich; sisters, Mary 
Grzanich and Caroline Grzanich; brother, Mark Grzanich; grandparents, Mary 
Grzanich of Chico and Ed and Mimi Maring of Patterson; greatgrandmother, Helen 
Maring of Patterson; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Thursday�s Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 
416 Chestnut St., in Chico. 
A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. today at the church.
Memorial contributions in Claire�s name may be sent to the Claire Therese 
Grzanich Memorial Scholarship c/o Northern CA National Bank, 1717 Mangrove Ave., 
Suite 100, Chico 95926. 
Brusie Funeral Home, 626 Broadway, in Chico is handling arrangements.
