Patterson Irrigator, 12/03/2009, p 10 Florence Alma Hagemann Dec. 15, 1931 � Nov. 25, 2009 A memorial service will be Monday, Dec. 7, for Florence Alma Hagemann of Patterson, who died Nov. 25 at her home. Mrs. Hagemann, 77, was a native of Gravelford, Ore., and lived in Patterson for 45 years. She was an office manager for the family farm, as well as for Property Management Operations in Livermore from 1956 to 1964 and in Westley from 1964 to 1998, when she retired. Mrs. Hagemann was the only child of Ray E. Rookard and Lois J. Mead. She graduated in 1950 from Reedsport Union High School in Oregon, where she was valedictorian, cheerleader and life member of Martha Chapter No. 48 O.E.S. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1954 with a bachelor�s degree in business administration and a minor in modern dance and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She met Edwin E. Hagemann during college and was married for 49 years. They lived in Germany for two years during the Korean War while Mr. Hagemann served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Mrs. Hagemann�s hobbies were many and varied, including cooking, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, family boating, fishing, target shooting, traveling and playing bridge. She was an avid reader and sports fan and loved the beach along the Pacific Coast. She also supported a number of community groups, including parent teacher associations, Vernalis 4 H, Patterson Booster Club, FFA and the Westley El Solyo Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Hagemann is survived by her two children, Lynda McGee of LaVerne and Gary Hagemann of Anaheim; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Hagemann, who died in 2003. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson. Burial will be private. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 22 Battery St., No. 612, San Francisco, 94111 5520; to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto 95356; or to the Westley El Solyo Fire Department, P.O. Box 911, Westley 95387.
