L. J. Hammonds Passes Away; Lester J. Hammonds, 70, died in a Modesto hospital this past Tuesday after a short illness.
A native of this area Mr. Hammonds was born on the family ranch located at Rogers and Raines Road.  He farmed with
his father and recently has been living on Rogers H&R Farm Ranch. A veteran of World War I, Mr.  Rogers left with the
first draft from the area and spent three years in the army. Services are pending at Evans Funeral Chapel.
