Alice Faria Hansen

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday for Alice Faria Hansen of 
Newman, who died Monday at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.


Mrs. Hansen, 89, was born in Richmond and lived in Newman her whole life. She 
was a homemaker for 69 years. Mrs. Hansen was a parishioner of St Joachim�s 
Catholic Church in Newman and a member of SPRSI Council No. 61 of Newman.
Mrs. Hansen is survived by her brother, Edward Faria, and his wife, Rose, of 
Patterson; her sister, Rose Onstine, and sister-in-law, Madelyn Faria, both of 
Gustine; her caretakers, Sandra Allen and Shirley Jensen, both of Newman; and 
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Faria; her daughter, Betty 
Hansen; and a brother, Manuel Faria.
Monday�s Mass and the recital of a rosary will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. 
Joachim�s Catholic Church, 1121 Main St., in Newman. Visitation will be observed 
from 9 to 10 a.m. that day at the church. Burial will follow in Hills Ferry 
Cemetery, 1334 W. Stuhr Road, in Newman.
Hillview Funeral Chapel, 1258 R St., in Newman, is handling arrangements.
