Harrison Percy 520925 p1 Percy Harrison Early Resident Passes Away In S.F.; Percy Harrison. 72, long time resident and Southern Pacific railroad agent in Patterson, passed away in a San Francisco hospital last Wednesday evening following an extended illness. He is survived by his widow, Grace, Patterson; a son, Alfred Harrison, Patterson, and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Virgo, Stevenson. Harrison was born in England and came to the United States in 1897. He came to Patterson in 1915 as S. P. railroad agent, then moved to Oakland in 1933 where he served in a similar capacity until his retirement in 1945. In 1945 he moved to Gustine where he lived until May of last year when the Harrisons returned to Patterson, taking residence on North Fourth St. While in Patterson, Harrison helped organize the Free and Accepted Masons, F & AM, in 1920 and the Order of Easter Star, OES, a few years later. He served as first Master of the local F&AM and held office for two term, 1920 and 1921. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of England, the order of railroad telegraphers: the Royal Arch Masons and Knights Templar in Modesto: the Aahmes Shrine Temple of Oakland; and the Masonic lodge of Benicia. He served as Master of the Los Banos Lodge. F & AM, in 1913 and was a Past Master of the Orestimba Chapter, OES, Newman. and Past Patron of the Patterson chapter OES. Funeral services were held at Evans Funeral Chapel at 10 a. m. Saturday. Reverend Kenneth D. Miller, pastor of the Federated Church, officiated. Interment in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
