Marie L. Haskell, 98;  Services were held Monday in Stockton for Marie L. Haskell, who died there on July 27.
She was 98.  She was born Sept. 24, 1901, in Browns Flat, Tuolumne County. She was a descendant of the pioneer Pedro
family who came around the Horn during the Gold Rush. The men in the family became hardrock miners.  A frequent
visitor to Patterson, she belonged to the San Joaquin County Employees Association and was a long-time member of the
Patterson Garden Club.  She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Hammon of Patterson and Betty Gallo of Stockton,
grandchildren Janelle Marie McGuire of Patterson and Bret Haskell Hammon of Morgan Hill, and five great-
grandchildren.
