Maria A. Helmer, 53;  Maria Angelica Helmer, a Patterson resident for 20 years, died Sunday at Doctors Medical center
in Modesto.  She was 53.  A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, at 10 a.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel in
Patterson, followed by burial at Patterson District Cemetery.  A native of Donna, Texas, she was a homemaker, and
member of Assembly of God church in Grayson.  She is survived by her children Robert Hernandez of Midland, Texas;
John Albert Gonzales of Lubbock, Texas; Ricardo Lopez, Rene Flynn, Johnathon James Helmer, and: Guadalupe Meza,
all of Patterson; a brother, Tony J. Garza of: Lubbock, Texas; and two sisters, Hope G. Gonzales of Patterson and Eva G.
Soza of Wasco; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
