Simon Cordova Heredia

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 28, for Simon Cordova 
Heredia of Patterson, who died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in 
Modesto.
Mr. Heredia, 80, was a native of San Diego and lived in Patterson 47 years. He 
previously lived in Arizona.
Mr. Heredia was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and 
served in the U.S. Army Reserve for three years. He was a field supervisor for 41 years 
for Pacific Tomato Growers and Triple E Tomato Growers.
He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and enjoyed spending time with his 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Heredia is survived by his wife, Elodia Heredia of Patterson; sons, Art Heredia of 
Las Vegas, Simon Heredia Jr. of Modesto, John Heredia of Avondale, Ariz., and 
Anthony Heredia of Glendale, Ariz.; daughters, Rita Lopez of Manteca, Cindy Lagos of 
Myersville, Md., and Sandy Lagos of Damascus, Md.; 24 grandchildren; and numerous 
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lupe Heredia.
Thursday’s Mass will begin at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St. Burial 
will follow at a later date in Patterson District Cemetery. Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 
W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson, is handling arrangements.
