Funeral Service Held for Kenneth Hicks; Final rites were conducted Tuesday in the Whitehurst funeral Chapel in Los
Banos for Kenneth E. Hicks, 52, who died December 30 in a Merced hospital after a year's illness. Hicks, a native of
Kentucky, moved to Patterson from Kentucky 35 year ago and to Los Banos 18 years ago.  He operated a tavern in Volta
until his illness.  He was a member of the Los Banos Sportsmen club. He leaves his widow, Gwendolyn; daughter, Mrs.
Frankie Marie Day of Florida; son, Kenneth Lee Hicks of Washington; brothers, Frank, Warren, and James of Patterson;
Roy of Gustine, Floyd of Los Angles, Boyd of Anaheim and Quinton Hicks of San Francisco; sisters, Mrs. Winifred
Hendrix of Vancouver, B.C., Mrs. Roe Azevedo of Modesto and Erma Carrie of San Francisco. Burial was in the
Patterson District Cemetery.
