Hicks Warren H 921201 p16 Warren H. Hicks, 70; A funeral service will be held today, Tuesday, for 70 year Patterson resident Warren Harding Hicks. He died last Friday at Memorial North Hospital in Modesto where he had been hospitalized for several weeks. He was 70. A native of Oklahoma, he went through local schools, then served with the 101st Airborne division during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a Purple Heart recipient, being wounded twice in 1944 and again in early 1945. He received the EAME theater ribbon with four bronze stars with bronze arrowhead and the distinguished unit citation with an oak leaf cluster. He was a longtime farmer and a member of Patterson Masonic Lodge No. 488. A Masonic service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hillview Funeral Chapel. Burial in Patterson District Cemetery will follow. Survivors include his wife, Irene Hicks of Patterson; two sons, Bill of Fresno and Bob Hicks of Firebaugh; a daughter, Sandy Correia of Firebaugh; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Frankie, J.D., and Roy Hicks, all of Patterson; and a sister, Irma Carrie of Altaville. The family requests that remembrances be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1701 19th Ave., San Francisco, CA 94122.
