Nephew of Local Man in Big Tragedy; A nephew of W. S. Hill was one of the victims of the terrible tragedy in Ontario
last week when eleven youths wee drowned in Balsam Lake following the upturning of a canoe containing fifteen.
Hill's nephew was the hero of the tragic episode, giving his life in an effort to obtain help.  Following the accident, the
party clung to the side of the boat, which had room for a few at a time to rest on the bottom.  Some could not swim
however, and during the long night's struggle, they slipped off and were drowned one by one.  Hill's nephew, however,
was a good swimmer and finally struck off in an effort to reach shore but was drowned en route.
