Eugene J. Hlavaty, 69;  A rosary and Mass will be said today, Thursday, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church for Eugene
J. Hlavaty. who died Sunday at his Modesto home.  He was 69.  A native of El Campo, Texas, he lived in Modesto for 20
years and worked as a roofing salesman.  He was a member of the Roofing Association, Tracy Golf and Country Club,
and Sacred Heart Church.  He was a United States Marine Corps veteran.  Survivors include his wife, Caroline Hlavaty of
Modesto; sons Gregory M. Hlavaty of Carlsbad and Marcus Hlavaty of San Bernardino; stepchildren Peter Lockwood
and Jenny Seaman of England, and Christine Bryan of Modesto; a brother, Fred Baca of Corona; sisters Mary Sexton and
Barbara Baker, both of El Campo, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Remembrances can be made to
Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., suite C, Modesto, Calif. 95350.  Hillview Funeral Chapel is in charge of the
arrangements.
