Hollenbeck Dale G 951221 p12 Dale G. Hollenbeck, 95; Dale Gilbert Hollenbeck, a retired business executive and civic leader, died Dec. 17 at Del Puerto Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility. He was 95. A native of Lincoln, Nebr., he graduated in 1924 from the University of Washington where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He started his canning career with the California Packing Corp. and in 1932 came to Stockton as manager of the Morpak Preserving Company. He served as president and was a partner in the Thornton Canning Company from its inception in 1938 until it was sold in 1959 to the California Canners & Growers. He then was assistant to the president of Calcan for many years. Upon retirement he moved to Pebble Beach and was a former member of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club, the Beach Club, and the Pacific Union Club of San Francisco. He served as a trustee of the University of the Pacific and was a former board member of both the San Joaquin County Fair Association and the Canners League of California. He also served as president of the latter organization. He was a 70 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a life member of Arcana Lodge No. 87, F&AM. He also was a Shriner and a member of Ben Ali Temple. Private interment was planned. Survivors include a daughter, Harriet Cox of Westley; three grandchildren, Lisa Minton and Jan Brooks, both of Patterson, and Frank Cox of Pleasanton; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannette B. Hollenbeck, grandson John H. Cox, and sister Jannet Little-johns. Remembrances should be sent to the Del Puerto Skilled Nursing Facility, P.O.
