Collision with Truck Kills Newman Man; Frank David Homen, 1433 Orestimba Road, Newman, was killed Wednesday
morning about 10 a.m. in a car-truck accident on Crows Landing Road just north of the Marshall Road intersection.
Homen, 19, was westbound when his car drifted to the right, hit a soft shoulder and spun across the roadway into the path
of a tractor-trailer rig driven by Calvin Coinner, 42, of Empire.  The truck belonged to the Fairbanks Trucking Co. of
Modesto, The car was pinned under the truck rig, and the Patterson Fire Department was called to clean up the roadway.
Coinner suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the Del Puerto Hospital. Homen was the son of Hazel
Romeo, formerly of Patterson.
