Hurner Nichole L 981231 p3 Nichole L. Hurner, 15; Joint funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 1 p.m. for Ronald D. Hurner and his daughter Nichole, who were killed in a vehicle accident Christmas Eve. He was 50 and his daughter 15. They died of injuries when the vehicle he was driving was struck by another. He was a cattle rancher and rice farmer who was raised in the San Antonio Valley west of Patterson. The service will be held at the family ranch after one was held Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln where he was a member. Said to never be without a smile or kind word, he was active in his community and was a devout family man who spent countless hours watching and assisting his children and grandchildren in all their activities. Nicliole, nicknamed Nikki. was a sophomore at Lincoln High School where she was a member of the Future Farmers of America. She was active in her church s youth program and was planning a career in clothing design. Survivors include his wife and Nikki s mother, Judy Hurner; a son and brother, William Wilson of Prineville, Ore.; three daughters and sisters, Colette Evans and Holly and Danelle Hurner, all of Sheridan; five grandchildren; mother and grandmother, Helen Hurner; a brother and uncle, Keith Hurner; and a sister and aunt, Ruth Stoddard. The latter three all reside in the San Antonio Valley. In addition Nichole is survived by another grandmother, Lucille Matoza of Gustine. A scholarship to assist youth is being established. Contributions may be made to the Ron and Nichole Hurner Memorial Scholarship Fund, Feather River State Bank, 114 D St., Wheatland, Calif. 95692.
