One Dead In Car-Train Accident Sat.; Sutherland Hutton. 52, of Orinda, was fatally injured early last Saturday morning
when the car in which he was riding struck a Southern Pacific freight train.  The accident occurred at the south edge of
Patterson at an SP spur. Russell Bugroden of El Sobrante was driving the car.  He received a crushed chest.  He was
treated at Del Puerto hospital and transferred to the Albany hospital.  Hutton died about 2 1/2 hours following the
accident. Police report that there were no flares, or warning signals at the spur crossing and that the driver apparently did
not see the train.  The two men were going duck shooting.
