Ielmini Alfonso 950330 p6 Alfonso Ielmini, 94, co-owner of PFF; Private services will be held for Alfonso Ielmini, cofounder and co-owner of Patterson Frozen Foods. He died Monday night at Del Puerto Hospital, where he had been a patient for a number of years. He was 94. A native of Femo, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1922 and had lived in Patterson the past 72 years, coming here as a 22 year old. He and his younger brother Mario became owners of the Patterson Bakery, a business successfully operated until the. mid-1940s. In 1946 the two brothers founded the frozen foods company, becoming one of the pioneers in the new industry. They again worked side by side, with Alfonso being responsible for overall field operations and development of the excellent grower relationship that continues today. Private family services, including a rosary and a Mass, will be held. Burial will be in Patterson District Cemetery. Survivors include a son, John A. Ielmini of Patterson, a brother, Primo Ielmini of Femo, Italy; a sister-in-law, Marie Ielmini of Patterson; grandchildren Christian Ielmini of Modesto, Anne Stokman of Patterson, Jane Bubar of Thousand Oaks, and Thomas Ielmini of Patterson; seven great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Angelo Ielmini of Patterson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacred Heart School, 505 M St., Patterson.
