Needham Services Held Monday; Well-known community leader and retired farmer Roy Elwood Needham, 84, died last Thursday morning at the local hospital after collapsing at the end of a Rotary Club meeting Wednesday. A native of Tracy and member of a pioneer California family, Needham had lived here 60 years. He was president of the Rotary Club when a committee was appointed to initiate the drive to form a hospital district in Patterson. A veteran of World War I, Needham was past commander of the local American Legion post; served on the Patterson High School board of trustees; was a Boy Scout leader, past president of the Farm Bureau and 50-Plus Club and was an active layman in the Federated Church. He is survived by a son, Ha1 Needham of San Francisco; daughter, Marjorie Fulton of San Mateo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held Monday morning at the Federated Church with interment in the Patterson District Cemetery. The family requests that any remembrances go to the Federated Church.
