Nicolds Richard F 010503 p10 Richard F. Nicolds, 61; Former Pattersonite Richard "Dick" Nicolds died April 25 at his home in Fortuna. He was 6!. Born in Modesto, he was raised in Patterson. graduating from high school here in 1958. He then farmed orchard crops and ran a custom orchard service before moving to Fortuna in 1985. There he worked as a cow tester and manager for the Ferndale Cow Testing Association. While here he was a 4-H project leader and community leader. In recent years he enjoyed woodworking that included carving, as well as gardening and spending time with his granddaughters. A 2-5 p.m. open house in his memory will be held Saturday, May 19. at the Patterson home of Wilma Thorkelson on North Ninth Street. Survivors include his wife. the former Jeanne Brunelle of Fortuna whom he married in 1966; two sons, Mark Nicolds of Corning and John and his wife Debra Nicolds of Arroyo Grande; a daughter, Kathy Carterby and her husband Ron of Patterson: two granddaughters; his mother, Pearl Nicolds of Modesto; a sister, Linda Raffo and her husband Ray of Modesto; his father-in-law, Chester Brunelle of Concord: and many sisters and brothers-in-1aw as well as nieces and nephews.
