Modesto Man Killed in Crash along Del Puerto Canyon    Corey Norby, 23
A Modesto man died Friday evening after the car he was driving went over an embankment along Del Puerto Canyon
Road west of Patterson.  Corey Norby, 23, was pronounced dead following the 11:40 p.m. crash.  Passengers Nicole
Starky, 20, Samantha Vieira, 19, and a 16-year-old boy, all of Modesto, were taken to Doctors Medical Center in
Modesto with minor injuries.  CHP officer Tom Killian said Norby was driving westbound on Del Puerto Canyon Road
at about 45 to 50 mph, when he failed to negotiate a sharp turn.  The car went over a 30-foot embankment and overturned,
hitting a large tree, Killian said.  Killian said the report did not indicate what portion of Del Puerto Canyon Road the
accident occurred on or what the speed limit was there. All the investigating officers were out of the office on Monday.
Everyone in the car was wearing seat belts, Killian said.
