Nunes Antonio F 530625 p1 Antonio F. Nunes Passes Away; Antonio Ferreira Nunes, 57, passes away Saturday evening at Stanislaus County Memorial Hospital after a. short illness. A native of the Azores, Nunes was a farmer on Crows Landing Road. He had lived in the Modesto area and the Hughson district since 1915 for 33 years. Nunes was a member of BPOE in Modesto and the PUEC, IDES and SES in Crows Landing. Services were held yesterday at 10 a.m. at Shannon Chapel in Modesto. They were conducted under the auspices of the Modesto Elks. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna R. Nunes; six children, Maxine Nunes of Whittier, Hazel Lucas of San Jose, Ellen Lucas and Margaret Martin of Turlock, Thomas Smith of Crows Landing and John Smith of the U. S. Navy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Nunes of the Azores Islands; and two brothers, Johnny Nunes Sr. of Patterson and Manuel Nunes of Crows Landing. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters in the Azores Islands.
