Patterson Irrigator, 08/13/2002, p. 14 Minnie Vieira Oliveira, 82 Former Patterson resident Minnie Vieira Oliveira, 82, died Saturday in Roseburg, Ore. She was born on the island of Flores in the Azore Islands. the daughter of John Gonsalves and Anna Gomes Vieira. The family moved to this country when she was an infant, and she grew up on a dairy farm outside Manteca. She graduated from Manteca High School in 1936 and two years later married Joseph Enos Oliveira. They operated a dairy here from 1941-56, then moved to Newman five years later. In 1979 the couple moved to Philomath, Ore., and last year moved to Roseburg in that state to be with a son. They were members of St. Joachim s Catholic Church in Newman and St. Mary s Catholic Church in Corvallis. She belonged to YLI in Patterson. She also enjoyed sewing, raising cats, and being with her family. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson s Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg. A Mass is scheduled for Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in that city. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Joseph E. Oliveira of Roseburg; two sons Edwin of Elk, Calif., and Ronald Oliveira of Roseburg; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
