Mary E. Borba Olivera   July 27, 1910 � Oct. 19, 2004
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday for Newman resident Mary E. Borba Olivera, 94, who died
Tuesday at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton.  A native of St. Jorge, the Azores, Mrs. Olivera lived in the
Stanislaus County 50 years. She was a homemaker and had been an employee of Westside Cleaners in Patterson many
years.  She was a parishioner of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman.  Mrs. Olivera is survived by her son, Joseph
Olivera of Stockton; a nephew, Ed Borba of Newman; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She was
preceded in death in 1962 by her husband, Joseph Olivera.  Monday's Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim's
Catholic Church, 1121 Main St., in Newman.  The rosary will be recited during the Mass.  Burial will follow at Patterson
District Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.  Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman is
handling arrangements.
