Marie Olson, 76;  A funeral service will be held here Saturday for Marie Janette Olson, 76, who resided in Patterson most
of her life.  She moved to Roseville about two months ago and died there early Tuesday morning after suffering a stroke.
A service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church where she was a longtime member.  Burial in
Patterson District Cemetery will follow.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hillview Funeral Chapel.  She was
born in Santa Barbara and moved to Patterson with her family when she was a very young girl.  Her father, Carl
Busengdall, was Patterson's police chief for many years.  She graduated from Patterson High School and worked for three
years at the Commercial Bank, later Wells Fargo, as a teller before marrying bank manager Donald Olson.  She later was
secretary at the Las Palmas School for four years, worked at the Evans Telephone Co. for five more, and ended her
working career in 1978 as a secretary in the school district office.  She was a member of Women of L.I.F.E. in Patterson
and the Day Lighters and the Park Roseville Re-tirement Center in that city.  Survivors include two sons, John of Oak
Park, Ill., and Jay Olson of Roseville; a daughter Donna Carmichael of San Jose; seven grandchildren; and a sister,
Aileen Stevens of Menlo Park.  The family requests that remembrances be sent to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 680
W. Las Palmas Ave., the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 4933, Modesto, CA 95352; or the American Diabetes
Association, 4719 Greenleaf Circle, Suite A, Modesto, CA 95356.
