Adam Lucero Ortega, 78;  The father of a Patterson woman who was a long-time resident of Newman has died at age 78.
Adam Lucero Ortega died Friday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.  He had lived in Newman for 50 years;
retiring after working in construction for Teichert Construction Co for 22 years.  He was a native of Sherman, New
Mexico, and was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman.  A rosary will he held Tuesday at 6 pm at
Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman, and a Mass is scheduled for Wednesday at 10a.m. at St Joachim. Burial in Hills
Ferry Cemetery, Newman will follow.  Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 5-6 pm. at the chapel.  Survivors include
his wife. Isabel Ortega of Newman: a son. Adam Ortega Jr. of Modesto; two daughters. Dolores Gault of Patterson and
Rosa Reed of Newman; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and a brother Tommy Ortega, and a sister Sara
Pena; both of Selma.
