Emma Vike Dies at 86; Longtime Patterson resident Emma Vike, who lived here over 70 years, died Saturday at Dcl
Puerto Hospital after a long illness. She was 86. A native of Gully, Minnesota, she moved here with her family, the Carl
Thorkelsons, in 1914. She was a faithful member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and was very active in its
organizations and activities. A graveside service was held Monday afternoon at Patterson District Cemetery, with the
Rev. Lawrence Sailer officiating. A memorial service followed at Our Savioar s Lutheran Church. Survivors include her
husband, Elling Vike of Patterson; a son, Edward Vike of Fresno; two grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Hurtig of
Patterson. The family requests that remembrances be sent to Our Saviour s Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity
