Vizzolini John J 860220 np Jack Vizzolini Is Buried Here; Final rites were held last Saturday for John "Jack" J. Vizzolini who died early Thursday after a long illness. He was 62. A native of Pleasanton, he moved with his family to Westley in 1941 when his father Joe purchased the Westley Market. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he took over operation of the grocery business in 1951, which he sold in 1977. He also is a former owner of the Westley Hotel, which he purchased in 1974. He served as Westley*s postmaster from 1954 after serving as acting postmaster for three years. He lived in Westley until moving to Turlock in 1982. Memberships included the American Legion Post in Patterson and the American Postmasters* Association. He was a past president of the Patterson Rotary Club, past secretary of the Westley Fire Department, and a former trustee of both the Grayson Elementary School District and the Patterson Unified School District. He was among the first seven trustees elected to serve the unified district. A rosary was recited Friday evening at the Hillview Funeral Chapel here, and a Mass was celebrated Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock. Burial was in Patterson District Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vizzolini of Turlock; three sons, Stanley of Modesto, Bill of Napa, and Robert Vizzoljni of Patterson; and five grandchildren. The family prefers that remembrances be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 423, Patterson.
