Perica 'Pete' Vovk

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday for Perica �Pete� Vovk of 
Gustine, who died Monday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Mr. Vovk, 75, was a native of Sarajevo, Yugoslavia and came to the U.S. with his 
family in 1965. He lived in Gustine for 35 years and before that lived in San 
Francisco for nine years.
Mr. Vovk and his brother, Ivan Vovk, co‑founded and co-owned the Newman Flange 
and Fitting Co. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church in 
Gustine and was well known on the West Side.
Mr. Vovk is survived by his nephews, Frank Vovk and Chris Vovk, and numerous 
great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank 
and Maria Vovk, his brother, Ivan Vovk, and his sister, Vera Vovk.
Thursday�s Mass was at Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church in Gustine. Burial 
was in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma.

Hillview Funeral Chapel, 1258 R St., in Gustine is handling the arrangements.
