The annual potluck and election of the Genealogy Society of Vallejo Benicia will held.

During the summer months our library will be open on the 1st and 2nd Thursday of the month but regular meeting on the 1st Thursday will not be held. Have a Happy vacation and see us back in September. Taproot will still be published..

A beginners class will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum.. Doris Locke will be teaching this class. It will be for both newbies to genealogy as well as those that have been searching for some time. Perhaps, just perhaps , we can help you solve your brick walls. A sign up sheet will be at the May meeting and we will welcome non members from the public.

We plan to advertise to the public for this class and for non-member of our society the charge will be $20.00 but will include a year’s membership in the society. We will be asking a small fee of $5.00 from members who wish to take the class to cover the cost of papers and printing.

The first class on June 21st at 1 p.m. will be a basic class on how to get started. The second class on July 19th at 1 p.m. will cover how to file, hard copy or computer the data you have. The 3rd session will be open to help with any problems you have, brick walls etc.
