Any woman is eligible for NSDAR membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death. No chapter may discriminate against an applicant on the basis of race or creed. For a complete list of eligible patriotic services, please see the NSDAR's Membership Requirements page. Not sure if your ancestor was a patriot? Click here and the National Society's volunteers will look up his or her name in the DAR Patriot Index for you. The La Jolla chapter will help you with the application process.
