Welcome to the Merced County Genealogy Society. The Society was organized in 1983 by seven dedicated  ladies and has now grown more than 130 members. We welcome you to use our site resources in your research.

Our genealogy collection is housed in th Doris Cochran Research Room in the Merced County Library.  

Please consider joining the MCGS.  Members receive a monthly newsletter – The Family Snoop. We meet on the 3d Saturday of each month where we provide a program of genealogical interest to members and guests. Please contact us with questions or suggestions and good luck in your research.
