Cleo Fouquette
Vigil prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today at the J. Vernon Ivers Chapel of
Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home for Cleo Effie Fouquette, 73, a retired cook who
died Thursday in a local hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 am, Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy/St. Patrick's
Parish. Burial will be in Winton District Cemetery.
Mrs. Fouquette was born April 23, 1916 in Oklahoma. She moved to Merced 36 years
ago from Oklahoma, and was a waitress for the Merced Golf and Country Club and a
cook for several years at Atwater High School.
She was a member of Merced County Genealogical Society and Daughters of the
American Revolution.
Survivors include a son, Harold Thompson of Merced; a daughter, Myrna Mundry of
New Carlisle, Ohio; three brothers, Homer, Paul and Roy Witt, all of Merced;
three sisters, Eule Franks, Lucille Williams and Maureen Watts, all of Merced;
seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m today at the funeral chapel.
