Carl W. Ritchey
Sept. 1, 1919 to Dec. 26, 2006
Carl W. Ritchey was born in Woodland, Michigan September 1, 1919 to William
Francis Ritchey and Florence A. Richards Ritchey.
He graduated from Ionia High School in 1939. World War II came along and he was
drafted into the Army Air Corps in June of 1942. After serving in different
states he arrived at Hammer Field in Fresno, California where he met Marjorie
Ritchey and married in 1945. In December 1945 he was discharged from the
service.
He graduated from Fresno State College in June 1951 with an Industrial Arts
Major and moved to Le Grand, California, to assume his 28 year teaching career
at Le Grand High School.
After retiring in 1979, Carl enjoyed traveling in his R.V., taking pictures, and
spending time with his family. After retiring he was never board for there was
always something needing to be done. His greatest love was his home and family
and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Le Grand, his son Michael and
daughter-in law Carol of Las Vegas, Nevada, and daughter Christy and son in-law
Richard Kellum of Merced. Four grandchildren and four Great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the Le Grand
Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. Remembrances may be sent to the Memorial Fund or
the Le Grand Methodist Church.
