Joy Thomas
Joy Thomas a resident of Merced for 9 1/2 years, passed away on Sunday, December
20, 2000, at her home. She was born on September 20, 1932, in Orland,
California. Joy was a homemaker for 50 years. She was a member of the Daughters
of American Revolution and the Genealogy Society and the P.E.O.
She is preceded in death by her son, David Thomas in 1967.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Thomas of Merced; her son, Kelly Thomas of
Fiddletown; two brothers, Charles Chittenden of Texas; Gene Chittenden of
Camptonville; her sister, June Buetel of Merced; three grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Stratford Evan Merced Chapel at
2:00 pm. Chaplain Mike Woodman will be officiating. Burial will follow at
Evergreen Memorial Park.
