MARY PEARL (BOSTIC) BLANTON
Oct. 25, 1935 - Mar. 28, 2003
Born Oct. 25, 1935 in Crowell (Ford County), Texas. In 1938 she migrated with
her father and mother, Virgil M. Bostic and Zeather M. Huckabee Bostic to
California. The family eventually settled in Madera, CA. She moved to Long
Beach, CA with her family in 1952. She completed high school at Long Beach
Polytechnic High School where she met and married her husband, William H.
Blanton. They raised two daughters and in 1988, moved to Merced, where they
bought a business. Mary was active in church, had a love for quilting and
crafts, and a strong zeal for the study of her family genealogy. She was a
loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1981 and a granddaughter in 1994. She
leaves behind a husband William W. Blanton of Merced; a daughter Joy Lynn Miller
and her husband Mitchell Miller, both of LaGrange, CA; a daughter Linda Kay
Bunker of Merced; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 4, 2003 at 10:00am at Merced at
Merced Cemetery District. Rev. Napoleon Washington will officiate. Arrangements
are under the direction of Whitton Family Funeral Service.
