Thomas Sullins in Tears at the Sight of
Body of His Wife
When Thos. Sullins
of San Juan, who was bound to Mount Sicker, arrived here Monday afternoon in company with his
brother-in-law, W.H. La Plant, by the tug 'Lorne', he went at once to W.J. Hanna's
parlors, where the body of his wife lay. The scene was most pathetic. He threw himself on the body
of his wife and the great tears coursed down his cheeks as the strong man wept in his grief. His
friends had to tear him away from the bier. Sullins is heart-broken.
He says he considers that Capt. Roberts made a grave error of judgment when he put the
women and children in the boats, which were so soon swamped.
