Tug Magic Returns From Cruise With Relics of Wreck
The tug 'Magic', on a recent search, Captain Harris, found no bodies, but a large amount of
wreckage. The tug had been commissioned by the Alaska Steamship Company to make the search. Along
Lopez island from Southwest island to Richardson a large amount of wreckage was found, including
doors, windows, railing, hatch stanchions, etc., but no bodies were found. The people at
Richardson had found much wreckage but no bodies.
The tug searched Friday harbor to San Juan point and other shores in the vicinity, finding
many pieces of wreckage. The pilot house and texas of the unfortunate steamer was found in
Mitchell's bay. Four life preservers were found on the shores of San Juan island, one of them was
smeared with blood. From Friday harbor the 'Magic' came
