|First search the Birth, Marriage and Death Registration
Vital Stats indexes at the BC
Archives Web site for film and registration numbers.
Next, using the film and registration numbers, obtain copies of the
actual registrations. There are a variety of methods that do not require
selling off family heirlooms in order to afford the copies.
Method #1 - from the BC Archives
of Vital Events page and the actual BC Archives search pages state
"Please note that all inquiries regarding the registrations must
be submitted to the British Columbia Vital Statistics Agency". The
fees for these services are outlined in the Vital
Statistics Agency Fee List. The fee schedule provided for genealogical
material is as follows (effective 1 Apr 1999):
Specify all of the information from the index for the registration requested
and mail to:
1) Genealogy Extract and/or extended Search - $50.00
* An inclusive charge of $60.00 will be made for services required
within 24 hours for Change of Name Certificates, and Certificates or Photocopies
