Burlington Community to Celebrate Canada Day

If you haven't already heard, we are celebrating Canada Day in a BIG way on Sunday, July 1st! This will be our 20th year welcoming one and all to commemorate Canada's birthday and we think that is something worth celebrating! Plan on spending the entire day with family and friends as we treat you to special music, food and fun!

Exciting Canada Day Activities!

Horse Pull

*Our annual horse pull will be the first order of the day, getting underway at noon and continuing until dusk. Come see champion horses and their owners working together to haul heroic heaps! We'll have the coffee on, so come early!

Street and Children's Parade

*Our Street Parade will get underway at 12:30 led by the children and community float. This year's float will have a nature theme and all the children are invited to dress up as bugs, flowers or animals and make their way past the admiring crowds. To be included in this charming procession, please call Susan Daniels at 538-3441 or Kate Adams at 538-7923.

Wanted! Volunteers!

Of course with all this activity we need more volunteers than ever to help make this a fun and happy day for all involved. We are striving this year for 'many hands making light work' and our volunteer chairperson is trying to organize short shifts for all those who can offer a little time. Many thanks and utmost appreciation goes to all of you who have made this commitment and in particular to those outside the Burlington Community who have offered your services and expertise. Please call Anna Osburn at 538-3234 if you can help us out with a couple hours of your time.

Wanted - Donations of small toys in good condition suitable for 'Carnival' prizes at the Burlington Canada Day Celebration for boys and girls ages 2 and up. Please call Harry Roberts at 538-9464 for delivery or pick-up information.
