November 28, 1907
A very interesting event took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Russell on Monday evening, Nov. 25th, when a few of their friends called at their home to congratulate them on the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage, which took place in 1857 at Chester, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Charles Shreve. Rev. John Gee presented Mr. and Mrs. Russell on behalf of the friends, with a purse of gold, and gave a short address. Mrs. Gee gave them a handsome Bible. Both of these gifts were thankfully received by the venerable couple. All who know Mr. and Mrs. Russell will join with those who were present on this occasion in the hope that their declining years may be blessed with the greatest happiness and truest prosperity.
