Mr. Joseph Jess and son Sheldon of Massachusetts, are visiting friends in this place.

Mr. and Mrs. Whitman Miner, their daughters, Bessie and Georgie, and their friend Miss Warwick, are visiting friends and relatives at Scotts Bay.

Mr. Nelson Tupper, having purchased the store formerly occupied by O. and M. Steele, intends carrying on an extensive trade in dry goods and groceries.

The schooner Golden Light went ashore near Davidson Cove on the sixth inst. and is a total wreck.

Mr. Verge Bennett, of Marblehead, is visiting friends here.

Miss Rachel Pineo is the guest of Mrs. Norman Steele.
