NCGS Calendar of Events

Nevada County Genealogical Society Calendar of Events

We hold our Regular Meetings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm the second Tuesday of every month, and our Study Group Meetings from 1:00 to 2:30 pm the fourth Tuesday of the month from March through October. Both meetings are held in the Community Room of the Madelyn Helling Library on Maidu Ave., Nevada City, just off Hwy. 49, a short distance west of the intersection of Hwy. 49 and Hwy. 20, north of Nevada City.

Guests are always welcome.

There will be no Study Group in February

14 February, Tuesday, 6:30 pm - NCGS General Meeting - Nancy Sauers - She will speak on “Immigration into the Port of New York.” Nancy has been doing genealogical research for 30 years, and is the local researcher listed on the NCGS website. She has visited Ellis Island, and will describe the various port immigration facilities, data bases, and websites.

10 January, Tuesday, 6:30 pm - NCGS General Meeting - Jill Harvey - Topic: Native American Research. Jill is Native American, a native of Nevada County, and a Native American educator.

8 November, Tuesday, 6:30 pm - NCGS General Meeting - Linda Lucky of the Sacramento Regional Family History Center. Topic: Using FamilySearch. You will especially want to hear her if you weren’t able to fit into her class at our seminar.

11 October, Tuesday, 6:30 pm - NCGS General Meeting - Lita Spoto, on Italian Research. She translates Italian records for FamilySearch. You’ll learn things that help you with other nationalities, too.
