Atkins, Margaret, born September 7, 1851 at Harrigan Cove. She married Samuel James Balcom (1848 - 1939) and had six children. Margaret died on February 16, 1941 and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax, NS. Atkins, William, born about 1780 at Birmingham, England. Later in life, moved to Harrigan Cove. He was buried in small plot alongside family members. “. . . erected a bronze plaque on a monument at Harrigan Cove. The tablet has the following inscription: - "In memory of William Atkins, who served under Lord Nelson on board H.M.S. Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, October 1, 1805." It is surrounded by a white picket fence. (This summer, I will try to locate this plaque and photograph it - Diana).
