Pembina Valley / Central Plains

The Pembina Valley / Central Plains district lies along the border with North Dakota and follows the Red River north to Winnipeg. Of all the districts of Manitoba, this one seems to have the largest Internet presence for its communities! The largest community is Portage la Prairie, lying almost halfway between Winnipeg and Brandon. Visitors from the US driving to Manitoba will mostly likely enter the province at the border crossing at Emerson. This district is also home to Manitoba's only desert, near the town of Glenboro.
