John Reid's Company of the 42nd, which was commanded by Capt. James Murray during the expedition. Taken from Atholl Records, page 440, vol. III. Shortly after he was transferred to Captain John Campbell's Company, and the following records are all with this latter company: f15 mustered at Montreal on 9 December 1760 for the period 24 april 1760 to 24 October 1760. f25 mustered at Staten island, New York, on 21 August 1761 for the period 25 October 1760 to 24 December 1760. f37 mustered at Staten Island, New York, on 24 October 1761 for the period 25 april to 24 october 1761. f46 mustered at Staten Island, New York, on 24 October 1761 for the period 25 april to 24 October 1761. f56 mustered at Jamaica, Long Island, on 12 May 1763 for the period 25 October 1761 to 24 april 1762. transferred 2 may 1762 assumably to 77th Montgomery Highlanders. Murray writes: "I understand the muster rolls of the 77th Regiment have perished. A survey was made for land in the County of Albany on the East side of Hudson;s River on 8 May 1764 for several persons including Donald McColl. Notation that survey was in Rupert Vermont [my short notations ]. Source: Calendar of New York Colonial manuscript Land Papers 1643-1803, page 364, (from page 11, Volume XIX)"
