Will of Honorah Denief

Honorah Denief    deceased

In the name of God Amen, I Honorah Denief wife of the late Patrick Denief deceased, maiden name Honorah Keating being in declining health, but in perfect and sound memory do this day make my last will and testament, in the following manner, First of all I will and bequeath to my daughter Catherine Dunn wife of Patrick Dunn her heirs executors or assigns, all my right title and interest of house farm furniture and all goods and chattels left by [will] of my late husband to me, the said will being recorded in the registry office at St. John's in the Isld of N.F.L.D. and in order to prevent any disputes or litigation by any person or persons who may try to disturb or alter this in any way, this my last will and Testament as aforesaid   -let it be clearly understood that all property and worldly goods vested in me by right of my dear husband belong for ever to my daughter Catherine Dunn, she to have and hold the same for ever.  And no person to claim anything or any demand on the said property as aforesaid. She having an exclusive right according to the true intent and meaning of this my last will as aforesaid.  This will is not to come in force until after my death and burial.  I am to be the sole owner of my property till then.  I also empower my executors to see that I am to be supported accending (?) and taken good care of accending (?) to my weans(?), and decent burial when Providence take me from this world    - Honorah her X mark Denief-  Witness my hand at St. John's    N. Fland    this Twenty-eight day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety   -James Slattery.  John Nash   John Nash Jr.  James Slattery-   Executors to the above will signed & sealed in our presence.  Be it understood as a codicil to this will, that my grandchild William Cook now a minor, son of Margaret Cook, my daughter, now deceased, and formerly wife of Wm. Cook now absent from N.f.l.d. is to be supported and kept by my daughter Catherine Dunn, wife of Patrick Dunn, and to be treated and cared for, as one of her own children, all authority being vested in her the said Catherine Dunn-   Honorah X Denief    John Nash.  John Nash Jr.  Jas.
